Dear Member, Summer is just around the corner. I hope you can find time to enjoy these last few days of springtime weather before the heat sets in. Thanks to everyone who came to Dr Miller’s talk about heartworm disease and made it one of the most attended meetings this year. This month’s talk is by Dr Steven Swaim from Auburn University about wound management and bandaging techniques. Please take a few minutes to complete the enclosed client compliance survey on heartworm prevention sponsored by Merial. The results will be made available to our membership, so the more people that respond the more accurate the survey results will be. Next month’s speaker will be Chris Copeland who is General Counsel and Director of Government Relations with Texas Veterinary Medical Association. He will be talking about legal aspects of veterinary medicine, so come with general questions that you would like answered. Be on the lookout at our website, www.hcvma.org, for general disaster preparedness information and surveys for members. The Board is in the early stages of adding information to the website, and any feedback you have is appreciated. Please let us know if there is something more we can be doing for our membership.
