Dr. Steven F. Swaim - Bandaging Wounds Dr. Swaim received his DVM degree from Kansas State University in 1965 and his MS degree in Veterinary Surgery from Auburn University in 1971. He practiced in Wichita, Kansas, for one year following graduation from veterinary college. He served in the US Army Veterinary Corps in a medical research laboratory at Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland, for two years. This was followed by another year of practice in Denver, Colorado. He progressed from Research Associate to Professor Emeritus at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine from 1969 to the present. He has published 180 articles and scientific proceedings, 37 book chapters, and two books. He is working on a third book presently. He lectures locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally on the subjects of wound management and reconstructive surgery.
